What an award-winning wedding venue really means for your big day

October 19, 2026

This month, Aberfeldy Barn took out three #1 titles at the 2026 Wedding Industry Awards for Southern Queensland Country: Wedding Venue - Farm & Country, Wedding Venue - Coordinator, and Elopements & Intimate Weddings.

We're thrilled, but trophies don't plan a wedding. So here's what those wins mean for the people who matter most: you, your partner and the family and friends who'll be there with you.

Meet Cass, the reason couples relax

If one person explains our awards, it's Cass.

As owner, venue manager and wedding coordinator, she is your first point of contact and the person making sure the day runs smoothly. She also happens to be a hospitality professional with a Business Degree majoring in Hospitality Management and more than 30 years in major events, including functions for Richard Branson and Bob Geldof. And yes, she's very often your DJ and MC as well.

Your wedding, your way

No two couples are the same, so our packages aren't either.

  • All-Inclusive: the full package, from celebrant, catering and photography to styling, cake, bouquets and coordination
  • Full Wedding Package: exclusive use of the Barn, with Cass guiding you while you choose your own suppliers, styling and timeline
  • Micro Weddings: for couples who value connection over crowd size
  • Elopement / Ceremony Only: simple, personal and heartfelt, whether it's the two of you or a handful of loved ones

You can also choose from three ceremony locations: the Barn doors, The Point or The Terrace. And because Aberfeldy is a BYO venue, you supply the drinks and our RSA-qualified staff serve them. Our partners at Dan Murphy's wedding and events team can help with quantities and offer a free tasting pack (T&Cs apply), which can make a real difference to your budget.

For the groom (and the groomsmen)

While the bride gets ready, The Loft is the groomsmen's hideaway: a mezzanine with a whiskey bar feel, a pool table and plenty of room to bond before the big moment. During the reception, it becomes a private retreat for the two of you, with space for quiet photos away from the party.

For your families and guests

A great wedding is also about the people you love, and we plan with them in mind.

  • Guests are looked after at the Terrace Bar, with drinks, nibbles and lawn games while you head off for photos
  • Multiple lounge areas mean nan, grandad and the little cousins always have somewhere comfortable
  • Sealed accessible parking and a path for direct entry, plus modern restrooms with disability access
  • The Terrace is a lovely wet weather option, and the Barn stays cool in summer and warm in winter
  • Discounted rates for your guests at partner accommodation, including Potters Hotel in Toowoomba

A team of trusted vendors

You don't have to hunt for suppliers because we’ve built a network of vendors we already trust, and you can browse them all on our website. See our vendors.

See it for yourself

The best way to know if Aberfeldy feels right is to come and meet Cass.
