Christmas at Aberfeldy: Toowoomba's favourite Christmas markets

October 19, 2026

Some events sneak up on the calendar. Christmas at Aberfeldy is not one of them.

Every year, thousands of people make the trip out to Westbrook for an afternoon of Christmas markets, live music and good food. And every year, as soon as the decorations come out, the same question lands in our inbox: "Is it on again?" It is! Christmas at Aberfeldy: Music, Markets & Munchies returns on Sunday 13 December, and we're excited to welcome you back.

If you've been searching for Christmas markets in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs that feel like a proper festive day out, you can stop scrolling. Pop this one in the calendar and tell the whole family.

Why Christmas at Aberfeldy is a Toowoomba Christmas tradition.

There's a reason this event has become one of the most anticipated dates on the Toowoomba Christmas calendar.

It's easy, it's cheerful, and it's genuinely for everyone. Grandparents, toddlers, teenagers who pretend they're too cool for it, we see them all, usually with a snack in one hand and a shopping bag in the other.

There's no big ticket price either. Entry is just a gold coin, which makes it one of the easiest Christmas outings you'll plan all season.

Christmas markets near Toowoomba: shop it all in one afternoon.

Let's talk about your Christmas list. You know, the one that's been growing since October.

The market stalls at Aberfeldy are the answer. Wander through, browse at your own pace and find something special for everyone, from the hard-to-buy-for uncle to the friend who already has everything. Shopping in one spot means no shopping centre crowds, no circling for car parks and no "I'll get it next weekend" that turns into Christmas Eve.

A market is also a lovely way to find gifts with a bit of personality, the kind you won't spot on a shelf at the shopping centre.

Munchies: come hungry

With a big variety of food on offer, there's something for every appetite. Graze as you wander, share a few bits with the kids and go back for seconds, because it's Christmas and nobody's counting.

Consider it your official excuse to skip the cooking on Sunday afternoon. No dishes, no stress, just yummy food and good company.

Live music: a soundtrack for your afternoon

Christmas isn't Christmas without a soundtrack, and our live music sets the scene from the moment you arrive. Find a spot, tap your toes, sing along if you feel like it (we won't judge), and let the festive tunes carry you through your afternoon of shopping and snacking.

A barn dressed for Christmas

Our barn is triple-insulated, beautifully finished and topped with a ceiling of fairy lights, and at Christmas it truly shines. Add festive decorations, a crowd full of cheer and 50 acres of Darling Downs countryside outside, and you've got the kind of backdrop that begs for photos.

Bring your camera, because every corner is a Christmas card waiting to happen.

A very special visitor

Bringing the little ones? Good, because we always have a special visitor. We're keeping it a secret (a good one, we promise), so you'll just have to come along and see who turns up. The kids should keep their eyes peeled, and the grown-ups should keep their phones ready.

Seats are limited:

  • Date: Sunday 13 December
  • Time: 3:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Location: Aberfeldy Barn, 124 Macaulay Road, Westbrook, a short drive from Toowoomba
  • Entry: Gold coin
  • Parking: Plenty of parking onsite
  • What's on: Market stalls, a big variety of food, live music, a beautifully decorated barn and a special visitor

Love the Barn? Imagine your own celebration

Christmas at Aberfeldy is also a lovely, no-pressure way to see the venue for yourself. Since 2016 we've hosted weddings, micro weddings, corporate events and celebrations of all kinds, and our team has picked up several ABIA and AWA awards along the way.

Dreaming of an intimate micro wedding, a big day for up to 150 guests, or a corporate Christmas party that beats the usual hotel function room? Come for a wander on Sunday, chat to the team and picture yourself here. When you're ready for a proper look around, you can book a tour.
